Weekly Intentions – Intercessory Prayer Group at Annunciation Church
The Prayer Ministry at Annunciation desires to form an intercessory prayer group; a committed group of parishioners who agree to pray daily for a specific intention or need. Five minutes meditation, a decade of the rosary, time spent reading Sacred Scripture, a visit to the Blessed Sacrament, any prayer form God has called you to dedicated to the intentions of the group. There is no power on earth greater than the power of Prayer. Please join us. Each week in this bulletin we will include an intention and further develop the Intercessory prayer group. Intentions include:
+ Pray for our senior members who will undergo delicate eye surgery, special medical treatments, and hospitalizations. Let us ask God’s healing power to assist them with their total healing and wellness.
+ Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary, Sr. Kathleen Griffin and Sr. Virginia Dunn, who will participate in their Province Chapter July 7-13. The Chapter will take place in Portland, Oregon. Chapters are times of prayer, discernment, and resolution for Religious Communities and are called for by Canon Law. The center of discussion and reflection relates to the Congregation’s Charism and Mission. Thank you for your prayers!
Healing Prayer Ministry – On Sunday, July 18th following the 12:30pm liturgy, members of the healing prayer ministry will be available in the chapel to pray with anyone seeking support for any intention. All are welcome.
About Us
Co-Leaders: Nelson Trujillo, MD and Sr. Kathleen Griffin, snjm, Pastoral Associate
As a result of our Parish retreat in the fall of 2008, steps were taken to initiate a Healing Prayer Ministry at Annunciation Parish. Those who felt called to this service gathered for over ten sessions of training and prayer before offering the ministry to the parish at large.
Our Mission statement proclaims: “Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we exist as a parish to further God’s reign in all our members through worship, education and prayer. We come together to minister to all God’s people in healing and reconciling love.”
The Healing Prayer Ministry is seeking to advance our Mission through prayer. We are dedicated to praying with those in need of healing in the physical, emotional and spiritual areas of their lives and to teaching others about this aspect of Christ’s Ministry.
We are presently doing prayer with laying on of hands after the liturgy on a monthly basis. We are expecting to develop prayer by appointment for a more extensive prayer time. Essential to this Ministry is the formation of an Intercessory prayer group that will provide intercessory prayers for parishioner’s intentions as well as the Prayer Ministry. We are in the initial phase of organizing this group.
The Healing Prayer Ministry meets on a monthly basis for catechesis and prayer. We will use this web site for further information, announcements and events.
