Capitol Hill Walking Tour for 10
Plus 5 Copies of Creating Capitol Hill:
Place, Proprietors, and People
Bring your party of up to 10 visitors on a walking tour around the United States Capitol led by Chief Guide of the U.S. Capitol Historical Society, Steve Livengood. Explore the streets around the Capitol as you learn about the circumstances and compromises that turned hundreds of acres of wet, woodsy wilderness into a permanent seat for our federal government. Based on real estate development stories detailed in Creating Capitol Hill: Place, Proprietors, and People, you will see the places where our Founding Fathers, including Daniel Carroll of Duddington II, worked with other dreamers, designers, laborers, speculators and all sorts of political operatives to create Capitol Hill, now one of the most important communities in our country. Whether you’re a native Washingtonian, or curious about the history of our capital city, or looking for a great outdoor
activity for a small group, this new tour is for you! Each book inscribed by co-author Charles Carroll Carter.
Tour must be scheduled in advance with the United States Capitol Historical Society on a date and time agreeable to all and is best taken in good weather. Tour begins at USCHS Headquarters: 200 Maryland, NE and takes about 2 hours. Certificate expires 6 months after date of purchase.
